India today is the 2nd largest producer of food in the world and the 6th largest food and grocery market. In fact, India leads the world in growth rate, ahead of the U.S., Germany, Japan, and the UK. The Indian Government has invested in its own food economy, and is now considered a top market for foreign countries to invest in food manufacturing and processing. In November, India will be hosting the World Food India summit, a global event to facilitate partnerships between Indian and international businesses and investors, especially with U.S. investors and businesses.

On September 28th through 29th, one of the Government of India’s top officials, the Minister of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, will be visiting the U.S. to meet with leading CEO’s from large U.S. companies. During her U.S. tour, she will be meeting to discuss India’s “Make in India” initiative and the enormous value U.S. companies will have when investing in India’s transforming food economy.
