Bethany Christian Services Celebrates Pregnancy Counselor Appreciation Day

Pregnancy Counselor’s to be honored on March 7th

Many are unware of the benefits and services a pregnancy counselor can provide. Pregnancy counselors provide critical support and resources for women facing an extremely difficult decision. To show their appreciation for these women and men offering their remarkable services, Bethany Christian Services, a global nonprofit adoption and child welfare agency, is inviting individuals and other organizations to join in celebrating Pregnancy Counselor’s Appreciation Day on March 7th.

Heather Bert, who has a long history as a pregnancy counselor at Bethany Christian Services, will be available to you and your listeners to answer questions about adoption, foster care, and post – adoption support. About 37% of births in the US are unintended, proving how valuable pregnancy counselors are. They offer services for women who otherwise might not have anywhere else to go. Ready to offer their consistent support, advice, and resources, these professionals deserve a day of honor and appreciation.

By celebrating Pregnancy Counselor Appreciation Day, we raise awareness for the resources available to mothers and couples everywhere. This day of celebration allows society to foster a better appreciation for a job that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Heather began her career at Bethany as a pregnancy counselor immediately after graduating from Elizabethtown College and later from Widener University with a master’s degree in social work. Heather has been at Bethany for 24 years and has served in adoption, foster care and post-adoption support. In 2014, Heather was named as the director of the GDV office and she feels called to care for children and families. Heather has a passion to serve vulnerable children and families with a sense of urgency and excellence and is committed to being an advocate and voice to help children find stable, loving homes. Heather has been married to the love of her life for almost 22 years, loves being with her family, and has three children who remind her of the joy in life. She is also an avid sports fan and enjoys being involved in the children’s ministry at her church.
