Emmy Award winning Investigative reporter Jon Leiberman joined Bill Martinez Live to discuss his latest book WHITEY ON TRIAL: Secrets, Corruption, and the Search for Truth which Jon co-authored with former D.A. and national TV reporter Margaret McLean.

WHITEY ON TRIAL tells the fascinating story of the 16-year hunt for, trial and eventual conviction of Boston gangster James “Whitey” Bulger, accused of nineteen murders. His gangland executions terrorized Boston for decades while government looked the other way. The most damning evidence against Bulger was delivered by self-confessed or convicted murderers with whom the Justice Department cut deals in order to secure testimony.  Several of these men are now free on the streets of Boston. Even more perplexing was that Bulger and his gang had willing accomplices in the FBI, public servants who not only failed to disrupt his criminal operations, but actually colluded in the crimes. Although one FBI agent was tried and convicted of racketeering and obstruction of justice, though he did not appear to act alone.
