For many homeowners, the idea of a summer home project is an exciting challenge. They are happy to open up the tool box and assemble a backyard swing set, build a DIY garden box or fix the tear in the screen door. But sometimes even the most handy do-it-yourselfers need to call in a professional.
Â
When facing serious issues with electrical wiring, water damage or major appliances, the safest option is to call a licensed expert. According to American Home Shield’s network of qualified contractors, of the 1.8 million service requests completed last summer, the top five most common issues were related to:Â
- HVAC
- Refrigerator
- Pipe / Plumbing Leakers
- Water Closet
- FaucetsÂ
Â
On August 4th, contractor and HGTV and DIY Network host Matt Blashaw will be available for interviews to give your audience a rundown of the most common summer home repair issues. He’ll also discuss how to tell when a project has become too big or dangerous for you to handle yourself, how to find qualified, vetted professionals and offer his favorite summer DIY project ideas.
