 Roya Winner

Communications Manager for Social Impact at Meta

The power of social connection fundamentally changed how people give back to their communities and create ripple effects of kindness around the world. This Giving Season, Meta (formerly known as the Facebook company) will be offering people more ways than ever before to unlock generosity within themselves and their networks. Whether you’re inspired to start or donate to a fundraiser, give your time through volunteering, participate in a drive for essential goods, offer items for free on Neighborhoods, or support a local small business, there are many easy options to make a big difference in the world right from your phone.

Roya Winner, Communications Manager for Social Impact at Meta will be able to discuss some of the ways people can participate in Giving Season:

  • On Giving Tuesday, November 30, Facebook will be matching up to $8 million in eligible donations made to a U.S. nonprofit on Facebook.
  • Over 1.5 million nonprofits are onboarded to Facebook’s fundraising tools, and people have raised more than $5 billion for nonprofits and personal fundraisers across Facebook and Instagram.
  • Now, more than ever, people are using Facebook to participate in their local communities. We’re excited to continue testing Neighborhoods, a dedicated space where you can more easily connect with your neighbors, to an additional 160 cities in the United States over the coming months.
  • Acts of giving unlock generosity within others, strengthen local communities, and push society forward. We’re proud to continue investing in different causes and can’t wait to see how people use our products to give in whatever ways are most meaningful to them.
