Our online and offline lives go hand in hand. With the technology that surrounds us, our homes, shared well-being, economic prosperity and nation’s security are all impacted by the internet. National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) kicks off on October 1st and this year, there is a strong focus on the role we all play in protecting our online lives and contributing to a safer, more secure and trusted internet. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance co-lead NCSAM ‒ which is a massive, collaborative effort to ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online. Both the public and organizations of all sizes must work together to improve awareness of the basic steps to help protect the internet. In addition, building a strong, cyber secure workforce is key to everyone’s safety.
Protecting the internet is “Our Shared Responsibility”, therefore, NCSAM 2018 will address specific challenges and identify opportunities for behavioral change. Each week will highlight a different theme designed to raise awareness across a range of topics.
